The laboratory test focused on studying the behavior of an electrical switchboard under dynamic conditions.
This test has been devoted to verify the mechanical and electrical behaviour of a low-voltage switchgear under a sinusoidal vibration thrust over a given frequency range, for a given period of time, as stated on Table 9 - Item 9 of the normative IEC 61892-3:1999 “Mobile and Fixed Offshore Units – Electrical Installations – Part 3: Equipment”. This test has been conducted according to the procedure stated on the normative IEC 60068-2-6:1995 “Environmental Testing – Part 2: Tests – Test Fc: Vibration (sinusoidal)” in order to identify critical frequencies and to determine any mechanical weakness and/or degradation in the specified performance for the switchboard.
The test was carried out on behalf of the company SKEMA S.p.A. in Cesano Maderno [MB].
